A woman has appeared in court after police said a valuable cannabis cultivation was discovered in a Shetland house.

Cannabis plants with a potential to yield drugs with an estimated street value of £30,000 were seized in the Brae area on Thursday.

Northern Constabulary said it was one of the largest ever cannabis cultivations discovered in the area.

Rachel Holmes, 31, made no plea at Lerwick Sheriff Court and was remanded.

The force said the Dogs Against Drugs charity assisted in the operation.
