Hill fall former Aberdeen Grammar rector funeral held

The funeral of a former rector of Aberdeen Grammar School who died after a hill fall has been held.

William Johnston, 63, of Westhill, near Aberdeen, was found on 12 July after he was reported overdue from Glen Shiel in Kintail.

The father-of-three was described as a "great educationalist and a true gentlemen" by Aberdeen Grammar's school board.

The funeral was at Skene Parish Church at noon.

Donations could be made to Kintail Mountain Rescue Team and Search and Rescue Dogs Association (Sarda) Scotland.

Mr Johnston - who is survived by daughters Eilidh, Shona and Lorna - was described in the family's newspaper death notice as a "much-loved dad", a "wonderful grandfather", and a "treasured and respected friend and colleague to many".
