Man jailed for slashing victim with CD in Aberdeen

An attacker who slashed his victim with a broken CD and stamped on his head has been jailed for three years.

Bryan O'Halloran, 23, admitted attacking 35-year-old Hugh Croll in Marchburn Drive, Aberdeen, on 7 March this year.

O'Halloran was originally charged with attempted murder.

However, his plea to a reduced charge of assault to permanent disfigurement and the danger of life was accepted at the High Court in Edinburgh.

Judge Lady Clark of Calton also ordered that he should be kept under supervision for a further 12 months following his release.
