A large-scale search has been started on the island of Hoy for a man who has been missing for four days.

Lewis Brown, 53, was last seen in the village of Longhope on Wednesday.

The Longhope lifeboat and coastguard teams are taking part in the search. The Shetland coastguard helicopter was deployed on Saturday over coastline to the south west of the island.

Mr Brown is described as 6ft 1in (185cm), of thin build, with a shaved head and a pony tail.

He was last seen wearing green combat trousers, a dark coloured top and camouflage parka jacket. He also has some distinctive tattoos.

Northern Constabulary have asked residents of Hoy to assist them by checking outbuildings.
