Man arrested over Philippines death of Aberdeen man

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of an Aberdeen man in the Philippines.

John MacDonald, 27, a second mate officer in the merchant navy, died in September last year after being stabbed.

Mr MacDonald originally worked on North Sea oil rig supply ships and then worked on international contracts.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, of Fraserburgh, and three siblings.
