Roderick Nicolson admits Sullom Voe shotgun threat

A man has admitted threatening to turn up at Shetland's Sullom Voe oil terminal with a shotgun.

Roderick Nicolson, 48, also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Lerwick Sheriff Court heard Nicolson called the terminal on Monday and made the threats.

He was arrested after firearm officers successfully negotiated him from his house on the west side of the islands. Sentence was deferred.

Nicolson was released on bail on condition that he does not go near, or attempt to contact, the oil terminal.
