Two in custody over Aberdeen 'gun incident' in Pitmedden Road

Two men have been taken into custody in connection with an inquiry into a weapon being fired in Aberdeen.

Grampian Police officers were called to the scene in the Pitmedden Road area of Dyce at about 15:00 on Thursday.

The force said a firearm was discharged at an unoccupied property.

A spokesman said: "Two men have been taken into custody and are assisting with the ongoing inquiry. We would like to thank members of the gypsy/traveller community for their assistance."

He added: "Whilst we appreciate this incident may cause concern in the community we would reiterate this appears to be an isolated incident."
