A body recovered from a harbour in Aberdeenshire last month has been identified as that of a missing fisherman, Grampian Police have confirmed.

Viktors Asitkovs, 52, from Latvia, was reported missing on 28 January, after he left a party in Fraserburgh.

A body was pulled from the harbour's Balaclava Basin on 11 March after emergency services were alerted.

His family has been informed of his death.

Police said that there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
