The supermarket chain Morrisons has been granted planning permission to build a new store in Aberdeen.

The city council's planning committee agreed to allow the new store on the site of the former Summerhill Academy, off Lang Stracht.

The supermarket, with a cafe and petrol station, is expected to be open by the end of the year, with the creation of an estimated 330 new jobs.

Tesco already has planning permission for a store nearby at Rousay Drive.
