Footage has emerged of a lifeboat crew rescuing a trapped calf from the foot of cliffs in the Pentland Firth.

The Longhope lifeboat crew was out on a search and rescue exercise when they noticed the calf had fallen to the edge of the water on Swona.

The small inshore rescue vessel was launched and the calf was successfully picked up and taken back to safety.
