Aberdeen-bound North Sea Super Puma helicopter escorted to Shetland

An Aberdeen-bound North Sea helicopter with 20 people on board had to be escorted to Shetland after a temperature warning light came on.

The CHC Super Puma was travelling between the Stena Spey rig and Aberdeen when the crew alerted coastguards at about 11:30.

A Coastguard helicopter escorted the aircraft to Sumburgh.

The rescue was co-ordinated by the aeronautical rescue co-ordination centre at RAF Kinloss in Moray.
