A Moray school bus driver who allowed a farmer's forklift to recover his vehicle off a banking with the children still inside has been criticised.

The incident happened when the single-decker Fochabers bus ended up with one wheel off the ground.

Deveron Coaches said the firm was deeply embarrassed and the driver's first priority should have been the safety of the children.

He was suspended before being allowed back to work on a final warning.

Moray Council said it was satisfied the bus could not have toppled and the children were in no danger.
