Police are investigating claims that more than 100 sheep have been stolen over a five-month period from fields at an Aberdeenshire estate.

The animals were taken from the 10,000-acre Littlewood estate near Huntly between February and June.

One of the farmers on the estate had claimed as many as 400 sheep had been taken.

Grampian Police were unable to confirm that amount, but said investigations were continuing.
