Investigators probing a fire which destroyed an Aberdeen garage on Sunday have still not been able to enter the building because of safety fears.

The cause of the blaze at Gordon's Garage on Pittodrie Place is unknown.

Police, who are conducting a joint investigation with Grampian Fire and Rescue Service, have been carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the area.

A force spokesperson said demolition work may have to be carried out before anyone can enter the damaged building.

About 45 firefighters were involved in tackling the blaze, which was discovered at 03:50 on Sunday.
