Probe as coastline body recovered off Aberdeen

A man's body has been recovered from the water off Aberdeen.

Lifeboat assistance had been called in after reports of the body being spotted in the Black Dog area by a member of the public at about 11:15.

Grampian Police Insp Andy Imray said at the scene that the body was that of an unidentified elderly man.

The force said inquiries are ongoing into the incident. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.
