Police force entry to Inverallochy house after four-hour stand-off

Police forced entry to a house in Aberdeenshire on Sunday night after a four-hour stand-off with a man inside.

Officers initially attended the address in the village of Inverallochy at 19:40 as part of an ongoing criminal inquiry.

But shortly before midnight entry was forced because of concerns for the man's wellbeing.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, but is not thought to have suffered any injury. Grampian Police said the man was now in custody.
