Motorcyclist killed in Aberdeenshire collision named

A man who died after his motorcycle was in collision with a car in Aberdeenshire has been named.

John McLean, 38, of Buckie, was declared dead at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly before 11:15 on Sunday on the A97 three miles south of Lumsden.

A man and a woman in the other vehicle involved were uninjured.

The road was closed for several hours to allow accident investigators to examine the scene.

Grampian Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
