Orkney 'plough attack' man jailed for two years

An Orkney man who assaulted his uncle with a plough has been jailed for two years.

Peter Thomson, 24, was previously found guilty of the offence, which took place on the island of South Ronaldsay in April this year.

The trial had heard Thomson pinned his uncle, 64, to the ground with the plough, before getting out of his tractor and repeatedly punching him.

He was jailed at Kirkwall Sheriff Court.
