Soldiers and their families now based at Kinloss have got to know businesses and community groups at a special event.

The 39 Engineer Regiment took over the former Moray RAF base, ending its 73-year association with the air force.

Businesses, social, voluntary and community groups took part in a freshers' day event at the barracks on Thursday from 10:30 to 15:30.

Highlands and Islands Enterprise helped the regiment arrange the event.

The engineer regiment had been based at Waterbeach near Cambridge.

Hundreds of personnel and relatives have moved to Kinloss.
