Death of infant in Aberdeen treated as unexplained

The death of an infant in Aberdeen is being treated as "unexplained" by police.

Officers attended an address at Fraser Court, in the city's George Street, on Wednesday afternoon.

The child was admitted to hospital at about 17:00.

Grampian Police Det Insp Graeme Mackie, who is leading the inquiry, said: "Enquiries into the death are at a very early stage."

He added: "As is normal in such circumstances a post-mortem will be carried out and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
