Aberdeen MP's plea over child court battle
The European Court of Human Rights is being asked to reconsider the case of an Aberdeen father who has not seen his daughter for 12 years.
Robert Bennett's wife moved away with their young daughter in 2000 and set up home in London.
His case was thrown out by the European Court of Human Rights last year.
Aberdeen North MP Frank Doran said he believed Mr Bennett's rights have been breached and was asking the court to reconsider.
Mr Bennett welcomed the move.
The court has previously ruled the child had residence in England.
Mr Bennett has been fighting the case through the courts in Scotland and England for many years, before it moved to Europe.
