Aberdeenshire crash driver suffers serious head injuries

A driver has suffered "serious" head injuries after a crash on an Aberdeenshire road in the early hours.

The accident happened on the A952, about a mile north of the Toll of Birness, at about 01:00.

The 42-year-old male driver of a black Skoda Octavia was cut free and taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The 34-year-old driver of an HGV also involved was uninjured. Grampian Police appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
