Man killed in A98 crash named as Sandy Reid from Banff

A motorist who died after a two-vehicle accident on the A98 between Cullen and Portsoy has been named as a Banff man.

Retired council worker Sandy Reid, 66, died at the scene after the crash, which happened at about 13:30 on Monday, about three miles from Cullen.

It involved two Nissan Almera cars, one red, the other blue, going in opposite directions.

Another man was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

A woman was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin.
