Sport Aberdeen fined after boy injured at Beach Leisure Centre

Sport Aberdeen has been fined £8,000 after admitting safety failings that led to a young boy being hurt on the flumes at the city's Beach Leisure Centre.

The organisation, which runs the majority of the city's sport centres and swimming pools, said it was a "deeply regrettable incident".

Sport Aberdeen said it "failed to take adequate steps to minimise risk".

The 12-year-old boy suffered serious leg injuries in 2011.

The case was heard at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
