Elgin platform leak report submitted by HSE
A report into a leak at a North Sea gas platform has been submitted to the Crown Office by the Health and Safety Executive, BBC Scotland has learned.
Total's Elgin platform, 150 miles east of Aberdeen, was evacuated when the gas began leaking in March 2012.
The leak was eventually stopped by pumping heavy mud into the well, followed by concrete.
The HSE said investigation reports had now been presented to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
A Total spokesman said: "We have been informed by the HSE that a report has been sent to the Crown Office."
