Van death driver case not proven
The case against a delivery van driver accused of causing the death of a nine-year-old boy on an Aberdeenshire street has been found not proven.
Anthony Healy died near his home in Westhill in July 2012.
Blair Fearn, 26, stood trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court accused of driving without due care and attention by reversing and striking the schoolboy with his delivery van.
The jury in the case returned a majority verdict of not proven.
The trial heard Anthony's death had been almost instantaneous.
He had been going to a friend's house on his rollerblades when he was hit by the back of Mr Fearn's Mercedes Sprinter van on Broadshade Road.
