A man who died in a one-vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire has been named as a 23-year-old engineer.

Lee McClure, who had moved from Ayr to Portlethen and worked in Aberdeen, died after the accident on the A950 near New Pitsligo.

His silver Vauxhall Astra left the road and was found on Saturday morning.

Relatives said in a statement: "Lee was well-loved by family and friends and we are devastated that he has been taken from us."

Police Scotland appealed for anyone who may have seen the car before it left the road to contact them.
