Train kills 15 sheep on line near Stonehaven

Fifteen sheep died and rail services were disrupted after an Aberdeen to Edinburgh train hit a flock on the line at Carmont near Stonehaven.

The incident happened on Thursday morning.

The driver then proceeded to Arbroath, and passengers boarded other services.

A spokeswoman for ScotRail said: "Unfortunately our service struck a flock of sheep on the line in the Carmont area. We apologise to customers for any inconvenience."
