Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to improve hand washing

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

NHS Grampian has been told to improve hand washing procedures at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Healthcare Improvement Scotland has issued three requirements and two recommendations following an unannounced inspection in January.

It said staff were moving between wards without washing their hands, and there was very poor hand hygiene compliance in an infection ward.

NHS Grampian said it had accepted the recommendations.
