Hundreds in Aberdeenshire cut off by power faults

More than 900 homes and businesses were left without power after a series of network faults in north-east Scotland.

Scottish Hydro said three faults caused the blackout, which affected Stonehaven and Newtonhill at about 06:10.

The company said most customers were reconnected within an hour, although 240 were without power for most of the morning.

Scottish Hydro apologised to those who were without electricity but said all have now been reconnected.
