Investigation into nude Craigievar castle photographs

The National Trust for Scotland (NTS) has launched an inquiry into "unauthorised" photographs of a nude female model taken at an Aberdeenshire castle.

The pictures at 17th Century Craigievar Castle, near Alford, date back to 2012.

The NTS said it had no evidence to suggest that permission was granted to the photographer to use Craigievar Castle as the setting for the shoot.

The photographer, Howard Kennedy, said the deal was all above board.

An NTS spokesperson said: ""The Trust would never sanction photographs of this nature - especially at a location that is regularly visited by families with children.

"We have already expressed our regret to Craigievar's donor family about these photographs and have taken steps to ensure that this situation cannot be repeated."
