Controlled explosion of Aberdeen beach device

A controlled explosion has been carried out at Aberdeen beach after a suspected World War Two device was discovered.
Police Scotland said a 200m cordon was put in place near Accommodation Road following the find.
A Royal Navy bomb disposal team was called in to carry out the controlled explosion before 16:00.
Insp Mark Stephen said: "It was established the device had no explosive capability, however a controlled explosion was carried out."
