Appeal after boy approached in Banchory woods

Police are trying to trace a man who approached a young boy in an Aberdeenshire town.

The man started a conversation with the boy in woodland near Lawson Avenue, Banchory, on Sunday.

He is described as being in his 50s or 60s, about 5ft 6in tall with grey hair and wearing brown clothing.

Officers said there was no indication anything untoward had happened but added they wanted to establish the "exact circumstances" of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
