Violent Aberdeen rapist jailed for nine years

An Aberdeen rapist with a "disturbing attitude towards women" has been jailed for nine years.

Martyn Daniel, 35, carried out his first attack on a 15-year-old girl in 2007 and continued his offending until 2015.

He was found guilty of a string of charges including rape and assault.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, the judge also ordered that he be subject to supervision for a further three-year period.

Lord Summers said: "You have little regard for their dignity or autonomy. These were persons you used and exploited for your personal gratification."

Det Sgt Gordon Patullo said: "Daniel's offending covered a period of eight years and included acts of rape, violence and controlling behaviour.

"The victims in this case should be commended for coming forward."
