NHS chief leaves for New Zealand
The chief executive of the NHS in Scotland is leaving his post to take up a similar job in New Zealand.
Dr Kevin Woods, who has been with the Scottish government since 2005, expects to take up his new job early next year.
Details of how his post will be filled will be confirmed shortly.
Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "I would like to pay tribute to Kevin for driving forward improvements in the NHS through his leadership, hard work and dedication."
She added: "He has made an major contribution to our vision of a healthier Scotland and I have no doubt he will bring the same drive to his new role."
Dr Woods has been appointed chief executive and director-general for health at the Ministry of Health with the New Zealand government.
