A woman has been injured in a car crash in the south side of Glasgow.

The black hatchback was travelling southbound on Pollokshaws Road at about 1655 BST when the car hit railings and a pedestrian crossing control box.

According to eyewitnesses, the car then spun around, narrowly missing a northbound number 57 double-decker bus. No-one on board the bus was injured.

The car passenger was taken to hospital and the woman who was driving the car was being interviewed by police.

Pollokshaws Road has been closed to traffic in both directions between the junctions with Kilmarnock Road and Eastwood Avenue.

Diversions were put in place while the wreckage of the car blocked the northbound carriageway outside Shawlands Primary School.

An ambulance, four police cars and two fire engines attended the incident.
