The Bridge of Weir Leather Company has been chosen to supply the interior materials for Japan's Infiniti Emerg-e concept car.

The car, a zero-emissions plug-in hybrid, was unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland on Tuesday.

The firm's low carbon leather has been selected for the interior.

Bridge of Weir Leather, based near Glasgow, is the UK's largest leather supplier to the motor industry.

The firm is more than 100 years old and counts luxury car maker Aston Martin among its customers. It also supplies leather to the interior design trade.

Bridge of Weir sales director, Jamie Davidson, said: "We are delighted with the results of our first piece of work with renowned Japanese brand Infiniti."
