Budget airline Jet2 is to introduce three new routes from Glasgow Airport next year.

The company has added Murcia in Spain, Pula in Croatia and Menorca to its 2013 summer schedule, bring the total number of destinations operated from Glasgow to 19.

Jet2 also announced it would add a fourth aircraft to its Glasgow base next year.

The airline said the move would lead to the creation of more than 50 jobs.

Steve Heapy, managing director of Jet2holidays, said: "Glasgow is an important base for us, and as we enter our third year, we are delighted to announce more new destinations our customers want.

"Adding our fourth dedicated aircraft is also great news for the area. This will be based at Glasgow ahead of the peak holiday season in May and will allow us to offer these new destinations and even more flying."
