A second oil summit - featuring industry leaders and politicians - is to be held in Aberdeen.

Trade unions and academics will also attend the private meeting on 30 June.

A report on Monday said more than four in 10 of the UK's oil and gas firms plan to cut costs further in response to the effect of a lower oil price.

Council leader Jenny Laing said: "The downturn in the oil and gas industry has brought the need for innovation and diversification."
