Police are looking for two men who assaulted and robbed a 15-year-old schoolboy in Paisley.

The teenager, who had his mobile, and other items taken, received treatment for minor injuries at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Officers said the incident happened in Thomas Street at 1910 BST on Friday.

Both attackers were aged between 17 and 19 and were about 5ft 10in tall. One had short dark hair and was of medium build, the other was of slim build.

Det Insp Maxine Martin said: "Initial enquiries suggest that this was a completely unprovoked attack on the young boy.

"I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or saw the two men in the area of Thomas Street around 7pm last night to contact police as a matter of urgency.

"Thankfully, the young boy wasn't seriously injured, however understandably he is extremely shaken by what has happened."
