Salmond to meet outgoing Bank of England governor Sir Mervyn King
Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond will meet the Bank of England governor, Sir Mervyn King, later this week.
They will hold talks in Edinburgh during what is seen as a "farewell tour" for the UK's most senior banker.
Sir Mervyn King hands over to the new governor, Canadian Mark Carney, next month.
It is likely they will discuss the SNP's plans to keep the pound if Scotland votes yes in the independence referendum.
The electorate will got to the polls on 18 September 2014, in which it will be asked: "Should Scotland be an independent country?"
