Nicola Sturgeon inspects mental health centre site

Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon has visited Dumfries to inspect a mental health centre site and chair an annual NHS review.

Work started on a £27m development near the Crichton Hospital in April.

The 85-bed unit at Midfield Park on Bankend Road has been designed to replace existing facilities which are now said to be outdated.

Ms Sturgeon laid the first sandstone block before attending the NHS Dumfries and Galloway review.
