Selkirk man admits child shooting charge

A man has admitted culpable and reckless conduct after a three-year-old boy was shot in the chest with an air rifle at a house in the Borders.

Michael Thomson, 30, also admitted possessing the loaded weapon which severely injured the child.

Selkirk Sheriff Court heard the incident happened at Thomson's home in Leslie Place, Selkirk, on 19 February.

Sheriff Kevin Drummond deferred sentence until 13 September for background reports.
