Thunderstorm risk prompts Scottish flood alert

Flood watches have been put in place across parts of southern and central Scotland due to a forecast of heavy rainfall.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency said thunderstorms were anticipated in many areas.
It is monitoring river levels in Dumfries and Galloway, the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh and Lothians, West Central Scotland and the Stirling area.
The flood watches will remain in place until further notice.
