An East of Scotland league footballer has appeared in court charged with headbutting a man in a Borders club.

Jay Derek Wilson, 25, who plays for Selkirk, is alleged to have committed the offence at the Move in Galashiels.

He is also accused of punching another man on the head in nearby Channel Street on Sunday morning and causing him to fall to the ground.

Mr Wilson, of Scott Street, Galashiels, made no plea and the case at Selkirk Sheriff Court was continued.

He was released on bail by Sheriff Derek O'Carroll.
