Lorry driver cut free after crash at Newton Stewart

Fire crews have used cutting equipment to free a lorry driver who was trapped following a crash in the south of Scotland.

The accident happened on the A75 at Newton Stewart at about 0430 BST on Tuesday when a truck came off a roundabout and crashed into a building.

A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury. His injuries are not thought to be serious.

Dumfries and Galloway Police set up diversions at the scene.
