Glencaple boat raiders cause 'huge damage' to vessel

A boat moored in southern Scotland has suffered a "huge amount of damage" after thieves made off with two pumps from the vessel.

The Allison Louise was berthed at Glencaple in Dumfries and Galloway when the incident occurred some time between 17 and 20 August.

The theft of the pumps saw the boat being seriously flooded with water.

Other items including a radar scanner, fridge and two angle grinders were also taken during the raid.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious around the boat between the dates in question.

In particular, they are keen to trace a silver Ford Transit type van which was seen on the quay near the boat between Wednesday and Thursday last week.
