Hawick school bus crash victim 'sorely missed'

The family of a woman killed in a crash involving a school bus in the Borders has spoken of its loss.

Sharon McIntyre, 35, of Leyden Bank, Hawick, died in the accident on the A698 near her home town on Monday.

A statement from her husband, sister and parents said she would be "sorely missed" by everyone who knew her.

Ms McIntyre was killed when her Suzuki Vitara collided with a school bus taking pupils from Denholm to Jedburgh Grammar School.

Two adults and three pupils on the bus were taken to hospital with minor injuries and shock.

Police have now issued a statement on behalf of the crash victim's family.

"Sharon was a loved wife, daughter and sister, who will be sorely missed by all her family, friends and fellow workers, and her beloved dog Kyle," it said.

"Sharon was a vibrant, fun-loving person, and was always immaculately turned out.

"She was always striving to do more in her life, both for herself and for other people."
