Man appears on Annan attempted murder charge

A 33-year-old man has made a brief appearance in court in Dumfries on a charge of attempted murder.

Mark Maycock, described as a prisoner, is accused of attacking and severely injuring another man at Silverlaw in Annan last week.

A 45-year-old man was treated at Dumfries Infirmary after an incident in the Silverlaw area at lunch time on Thursday.

No plea was made and the man was remanded in custody.
