Dumfries power surge bank back in business

  • Published

A Bank of Scotland branch where a power surge caused a failure of its server system has reopened after two days.

The incident forced the closure of the High Street office in Dumfries throughout Wednesday and Thursday and also affected its cash machines.

A spokeswoman said that engineers had repaired the problem which meant the closest available branch was more than 10 miles away in Lockerbie.

She apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused by the closure.
